Feed by M.T. Anderson. (Pg 1-50)

Summary
So far, Feed is about a teenage boy named Titus and his friends Link, Marty, Calista Loga, and Quendy. They're on a trip to the Moon for spring break, going to motels, parties, and clubs. In this world, everyone is connected to 'The Feed' which was like internet installed in their brains. There are also flying cars for transportation and artificial gravity on the moon. Titus thought the trip was boring but he soon met Violet, who he grew interested in. They all went to the club with Violet where a hacker managed to hack into 13 people's Feeds, including Titus and Violet. They had to have their feed shut down temporarily for it to be fixed at the hospital. During that time, he's shocked at how quiet and empty his brain was without the Feed. He was angry he couldnt understand a painting in the hospital of an empty boat, sailing on the horizon.

Quote
''We were frightened, and kept touching our heads. Suddenly, out heads felt real empty.'' (Anderson 46)

Reaction
I chose this quote because it kind of showed how technology impaired their abilities to even think for themselves. After their Feeds were shut down temporarily to be fixed and checked for viruses, they all seemed uncomprehensive. That quote alone showed how depended upon technology they were. It makes me kind of scared if technology one day dominates my life 24/7 (literally)..
